BMW MAINTENANCE:

BMWs come equipped with a maintenance system which indicates when service is due. Performing maintenance at the recommended intervals will maximize safety and reliability while minimizing breakdowns caused from normal wear and tear. Performing routine maintenance will minimize the cost of BMW ownership. Depending on the model year, one method of BMW service intervals will consist of Oil Service (self explanatory), Inspection I and Inspection II. The other method, Condition-Based Service or CBS, can be found on most BMWs by model year 2006.

INSPECTION SERVICES:

BMW Inspection I:

• Oil and filter change
• Microfilter (otherwise known as a cabin filter or dust/pollen filter)
• Detailed check of the engine, drive-train, suspension, electrical, and brake systems

We recommend this service every 15K miles or so (alternating with Inspection II) depending on driving conditions. Please refer to your service booklet for details.

BMW Inspection II:

• Oil and filter change
• Microfilter
• Air filter
• Includes everything from Inspection I, plus a complete vehicle check for all safety and reliability concerns. The inspection includes, but is not limited to, to your BMW’s brakes, horn, belts (drive belts and the rare BMW timing belt), fluids (engine oil, brake fluid, transmission fluid, coolant, differential oil, and windshield washer fluid), lighting, hoses, steering, charging system (alternator, battery and starter), etc. * Additional parts and labor may be needed depending on model, year and mileage.

We recommend this service every 30k miles or so depending on driving conditions. Please refer to your service booklet for details.

SUPPLEMENTAL MAINTENANCE SERVICES:

• Coolants flush every 2 years.
• Brake flush every 2 years.
• Transmission fluid and filter service.

CONDITION BASED SERVICE (CBS)

CBS is an intelligent maintenance system which monitors the wear and tear on individual components as well as oil levels. CBS also takes into account time and mileage for fixed services. The system analyzes the data and tells you when the next service is due. The Info Display will automatically give a four week notice/countdown to service needed. The iDrive Control Display tells you exact information on which component needs to be checked. This was designed to give advanced notice of service so you could plan accordingly and to assist you in avoiding any unnecessary maintenance work. CBS is a great system, but it is not meant to replace your mechanic’s trained eye.

At Revolution Motors, every BMW receives a complimentary 20 point courtesy check / safety inspection with every service (including oil service). We’ll let you know what you need when you need it!
